The Town is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Turtle Pond Overlook sign project. This community-driven initiative highlights the dedication, generosity, and teamwork of local volunteers, families, and businesses. The overlook is situated just behind Aroma Joe’s on North Broadway, further down the trail from the original deck.

The Turtle Pond Overlook sign was officially installed on November 23, marking the end of months of planning and hands-on work. A total of approximately 165 volunteer hours was dedicated to this project, led by Justin Baldridge, with contributions from fellow Scouts, parents, and community volunteers.

In total, 23 individuals, including Mr. Baldridge, participated in constructing the overlook deck and carrying out fundraising efforts. Remarkably, the deck was built in under three weeks, which highlights the impressive coordination and commitment of everyone involved. All construction materials were generously supplied by Cyr Lumber, whose support was crucial to the project’s success.

To fund the project, two community fundraisers—a spaghetti dinner and a car wash—were organized, raising a total of $5,485, including donations. Special thanks go to BP Gas Station and Triumphant Cross Church for their assistance in hosting and facilitating these fundraising events. We also extend our gratitude to NAPA Auto Parts for providing storage space for the project materials throughout the construction process.

The project benefited from the generosity of several local supporters. The Harvey family played a key role by delivering materials and tools, with special recognition to Bob Harvey, who transported supplies using his bike and trailer, assisted by Dave Topham.

The Turtle Pond Overlook sign itself was generously donated by Harvey Signs, which added a lasting and professional touch to the site. Mr. Baldridge would like to express heartfelt thanks to his parents, as well as all the Scouts and parents who contributed their time, energy, and support throughout every phase of the project—from planning and fundraising to construction and completion.

The Town extends its sincere appreciation to everyone involved in making this project a reality. The Turtle Pond Overlook sign and deck stand as a testament to what can be achieved when community members, local businesses, and volunteers come together for the greater good.
