Two members of the Salem Fire Department will once again take to the ice for a great cause this year.

Firefighter/Paramedic Dylan Ferguson and Firefighter Cole Ferguson are participating in the 2026 Battle of the Badges hockey game, an annual Police vs. Fire matchup that helps support children and families receiving care through Dartmouth Health Children’s and the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. This year’s game will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Dylan has proudly served with the Salem Fire Department for eight years, while Cole has been with the department for two years. Together, they will once again represent Salem in this meaningful event, showing that the spirit of service extends far beyond emergency response.

Battle of the Badges brings first responders together in friendly competition while raising funds for an important cause. It is an opportunity for police and fire personnel from across the region to come together, give back, and make a positive impact in the lives of children and families in need. Community members who would like to support Dylan and Cole can purchase tickets here to attend the game or make a donation, with all proceeds benefiting Dartmouth Health Children’s

The Town of Salem is proud to cheer on Dylan and Cole as they hit the ice once again for this special event.
