On October 23, families flocked to the Ingram Senior Center for Salem’s annual Trunk-or-Treat, hosted by the Salem Recreation Department. Salem Community Television’s, Susan McLoughlin, was there to capture the frightful excitement!

Salem Today – Trunk or Treat

Local businesses and families went all out in the Halloween spirit—decorating their trunks and donning costumes to match their creative themes. From Pirate and Minecraft to Cows and Aliens and even a Magician, every car offered a new surprise.

Jim Koczat, from the Friends of the Recreation Department, kept the energy high as DJ for the night, spinning favorite Halloween classics while the Recreation Aerobics Dancers got the crowd moving.

And candy wasn’t the only treat of the night—Rockland Trust served up pizza for families to enjoy between rounds of trick-or-treating.

As the evening wrapped up, excitement peaked with the kids’ costume contest, recognizing winners for Most Boo-tiful Costume, Most Original Costume, and Best Overall Costume in each age group. Trunk decorators also got their moment to shine in the Best Decorated Trunk competition.

Adding to the fun, Salem Community Television not only covered the event but also hosted a Kids Cam table, where young attendees could see themselves live on TV. Check out the Kids Cam at the link below to relive the Halloween magic!
