Salem, NH – January 28, 2024 – The Salem Police Department proudly welcomes three new officers to its ranks, bolstering the force and reaffirming its commitment to serving the community.

Joining the department are Officer Kyra Olms #216, Officer Michael Patterson #214, and Officer Amardeep Singh #215.

Officer Kyra Olms, a Salem High School graduate, brings a deep-rooted connection to the town she calls home. Ready to serve with dedication, Officer Olms is poised to make a meaningful impact on Salem’s safety and well-being.

Hailing from just over the border in Dracut, MA, Officer Michael Patterson arrives with an impressive academic background, holding a Master’s degree from Merrimack College. Eager to begin his service, Officer Patterson brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the Salem Police Department.

Officer Amardeep Singh, originally from India, brings a unique perspective and experience to the force. Having resided in San Francisco, CA, before moving to the east coast, Officer Singh is excited to contribute to the Salem community and be part of the SPD team.

All three officers will undergo comprehensive training, starting with the 196th Full-Time Police Academy at NH Police Standards and Training in Concord, NH, commencing in February. Following the academy, they will embark on a rigorous 3 and a half month Field Training program before assuming their duties within the department.

While it may be a few months before they are seen patrolling the streets, the Salem Police Department encourages residents to extend a warm welcome to Officers Olms, Patterson, and Singh. If encountered, feel free to give them a wave and congratulate them on their new careers in serving and protecting the community.
