Town of Salem, NH

The Town’s Master Plan Steering Committee will kick off the Master Plan Update with their selected consultant, Utile Design, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 6:00 PM in the Knightly Meeting Room of Town Hall. The public is encouraged to attend!

The Planning Board established the Master Plan Steering Committee (MPSC) to carry out the first comprehensive update to the Town’s Master Plan in over 20 years.

Adopting a Master Plan is a principal duty of the Planning Board. The Plan lays out community goals and is intended to guide the long-term development for a community.  The MPSC will support this process and ensure the Master Plan is representative of Salem’s values and aspirations.

The MPSC is responsible for establishing a strategy for public involvement, conducting public outreach, ensuring work is proceeding on schedule, and reviewing data, findings, and recommendations. Public input is encouraged every step of the way.

At their December meeting, the MPSC selected Utile Design out of Boston, MA to be the Committee’s consultant through this process. Utile Design’s submission is available by clicking the picture below.
