Town of Salem, NH

Did you know that the Town of Salem offers property tax exemptions and credits to its residents who meet the qualifying requirements?

For the 2024 tax year, starting January 1st, the Town will be accepting applications for the Elderly and Disabled exemptions, and we accept applications year-round for the Veterans credit programs. Each program has its own requirements to determine whether you might benefit from it; for example, the elderly exemption is not just age based, but also has income and asset thresholds.

Applications are available in the Assessing Department at Town Hall or on our website (Exemptions & Credits | Salem, NH (salemnh.gov)) and will be accepted until April 15th, 2024.

Also, the Assessing Department will be doing a brief, in-person overview of property tax credits and exemptions for Salem residents on Thursday, January 18th at 10 am at the Ingram Senior Center.

Please visit our website for additional information or call Amanda Mazerolle at (603) 890-2012.
