Winter Parking Reminder: Overnight Restrictions and Snow Emergencies

Town of Salem, NH

The Town of Salem reminds residents and visitors that winter parking restrictions are in effect from November 15th through April 15th each year.

During this period, overnight street parking is prohibited between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on all town streets. These restrictions allow Public Works crews to safely and efficiently plow, sand, and maintain roadways during overnight hours.

In addition, when a snow emergency is declared, on-street parking is not permitted at any time, regardless of the hour. Snow emergencies are issued to ensure emergency vehicles and snow removal equipment can operate without obstruction and to help keep roadways safe for travel.

Vehicles parked on the street during restricted hours, or snow emergencies may interfere with snow removal operations and create hazardous conditions. Violations may result in ticketing or towing.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed by monitoring the Town’s website and official communication channels for winter weather updates and snow emergency announcements.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep Salem’s roads clear, safe, and accessible throughout the winter season.
