Town of Salem Seeking Candidates for Finance Committee – April 2026

The Town Council has issued a call for candidates to serve as members on the following committee: Finance Committee

The Finance Committee will consist of three (3) residents from the community. The terms on the Finance Committee will be staggered with the initial appointments being a one-year term, two-year term, and three-year term. Following the first year, each term will be for three years.

The purpose of the Finance Committee is to provide informed financial review, promote transparency in the budget development process, and offer advisory recommendations to assist the Town Council in its fiscal decision-making responsibilities. The ideal candidates will possess at least one of the following backgrounds or experience.

  • Finance or Accounting
  • Budgeting or Financial Management
  • Business or Economic Analysis
  • Municipal Operations or Public Administration
  • Data Analysis or Policy Evaluation

Candidates must be Salem residents and may not serve simultaneously on any other Town board, committee, commission or advisory body.

Interested residents wishing to serve on the Finance Committee are encouraged to submit their resumes, along with a letter of interest, to townmanager@salemnh.gov by Tuesday, May 5, 2026.  Following the review process, candidates will be invited to interview with the Town Council at an upcoming Town Council meeting.
