The new Salem, NH Police Station is really coming together now and it looks amazing. Chief Joel Dolan highlighted some key areas during his most recent walkthrough,
He remarked that the station is nearing completion with all major trades on-site, interior spaces taking shape, and an expected opening in late summer to early fall. Dispatch, detectives, admin, and community spaces are all getting major upgrades.

🏗️ What’s Happening on Site Right Now
- Full trades on-site — Electricians, plumbers, HVAC, finish carpenters, and more are working simultaneously, which is a strong indicator the project is in its final phases.
- Sheetrock installation — Walls are up and being finished, giving the interior its final shape.
- Floor epoxy — Durable, easy‑to‑clean flooring is being applied, typical for high‑traffic public safety buildings.
- Exterior siding — The building envelope is nearly complete.
- Outbuildings & garage — Support structures are also nearing completion.
🏢 Interior Highlights
1st Floor
- Dispatch Center — Fully framed and taking shape; this will be the nerve center of operations.
- Public Lobby — Designed for community access and safety.
- Community Room — A dedicated space for meetings, outreach, and public events, this room is expected to hold 60 people.
2nd Floor
- Detective Division — No more working out of a trailer; they’ll finally have a proper workspace complete with separate interview rooms.
- Administration Offices — Leadership and support staff will be centralized.
- Special Services — Purpose‑built areas for specialized units

Chief Dolan noted the project is on track for late summer or early fall completion, which aligns with the current stage of construction.
