Salem is proud to announce our newest recreation additions, just in time for warmer weather, the Pickleball Courts at Michele Memorial Park and Basketball Courts at Hedgehog Park!
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies took place a few weeks ago and it is safe to say these projects are going to be a huge success. This could not have been possible without our amazing Community Services and Recreation Departments, the Friends of Recreation, and the Recreation Advisory Committee. A little over 2 years in the making was worth the wait for these projects that are an outstanding addition to the Town of Salem.
The Salem Community Services Dept along with the Friends of Recreation were happy to cut the ribbon on the new Pickleball Courts at Michele Memorial Park in Salem, NH. This SCTV video describes how this was accomplished by the use of ARPA funds and Recreation Impact fees without any tax impact to the residents. Two avid Pickleball players describe why they believe this sport is gaining so much popularity. With the capability for 8 Pickleball Courts and 4 Tennis Courts, this is the perfect way to get to know this well-loved sport! Check out the video below for more information on the Pickleball Courts!
In another informative SCTV video, Jim Koczat of the Friends of the Recreation Dept and Katie Duffey of the Community Services Dept describe how the Basketball Courts at Hedgehog Park got completed by the use of Charitable gaming funds and Recreation Impact fees with no tax impact to the residents. This is one part of a multi-phase plan for Hedgehog Park. Click below to see the video of the Ribbon Cutting for the Basketball Courts!
