Roadside Litter Clean-up Underway

Town of Salem, NH

The Town of Salem’s Municipal Services Department began their annual litter pickup starting the first week in April.  Every year, the Department sets aside a little time to clean up litter that accumulates on the side of our public roads.  Residents may be used to seeing the tied up blue bags during these collection events.

We are asking the community for help with this effort to support a litter-free Salem.  Individuals, groups, local organizations or businesses who are interested in helping the Public Works Division are invited to please contact Kim Babaian at Municipal Services at 603-890-2150 or kbabaian@salemnh.gov.  The Town will provide blue bags and assign areas.

Salem is a member of the Litter-Free New Hampshire Program and has collected over 19 tons of litter over the past six years.  That’s 38,000 pound of litter removed from our roads, roughly 3.16 tons per year.  Help keep our town litter free!  Your help and efforts are greatly appreciated!
