Town of Salem, NH

Beginning with the March 2026 Town Meeting Election, Salem voters will see changes to voting districts and polling locations. The information below outlines what residents should know. These updates were approved by voters during the March 2025 Town Meeting and are aimed at enhancing accessibility, reducing overcrowding, and addressing the needs of the Town’s growing population.

As part of the approved redistricting plan, the Town will reduce the number of polling locations from five to four. The updated polling locations will be:

  1. Woodbury Middle School
  2. North Salem School
  3. Fisk School
  4. Barron School

Under the new plan, the Woodbury Middle School will replace the senior center as the central Polling Location. Most voters who previously voted at the Senior Center will now vote at Woodbury. The Soule School polling location will be eliminated, and voters who previously voted at the Soule School will now be distributed to Woodbury, Barron, and Fisk.

Woodbury Middle School has been chosen for its larger capacity, improved accessibility features, and sufficient parking, which are expected to facilitate a more streamlined and accessible voting experience. Prior to the March 2026 election, postcards will be mailed to residents to inform them of their assigned polling locations. This initiative aims to ensure all voters are adequately informed and prepared for the upcoming election.
