Ingram Senior Center celebrates Mardi Gras: “Laissez les bon temps rouler!”

It was “Fat Monday” at the Ingram Senior Center where the good times rolled during their annual Mardi Gras event.

Seniors wore the Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold while adorning masks and beads.  DJ Chris Brunelle got the party started and had everyone on the floor dancing like we were at Carnival in the Big Easy.

This was just one of many events planned for this year.  Wendy Peters, the Trips/Administrative Coordinator reports that “Next up is the St. Patrick’s Day party at The Irish Cottage in Methuen where the shenanigans will begin. Join us and let’s Shamrock and Roll. In April we’ll head over to Castleton in Windham for The Beach Boys Ultimate Tribute Show. We’ll celebrate one of America’s greatest bands of all time with the country’s most authentic tribute show.”

To participate at the Ingram Senior Center, you must be 60+ years of age and a Salem resident. Membership is free to Salem residents.

See the bi-monthly newsletter available Senior Services Division web page for more information on a list of all their activities.

Don’t forget to visit the Off Broadway Thrift Shop inside the Ingram Senior Center which is open to the public Monday-Thursday, 9am-2:30pm and Friday 9am-2pm. Clean, smoke and mildew free donations (home décor, in-season clothing, shoes, jewelry, puzzles, softcover books) are always gratefully appreciated.

Did you know that the Ingram Senior Center loans out medical equipment? Inventory varies so it’s best to call ahead to see if we have what you need.
