2026 Local Government Academy: Connecting Residents to Town Government

The Town of Salem is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 Local Government Academy, an educational program designed to help residents gain a deeper understanding of how local government operates.

The Local Government Academy consists of a series of evening workshops that provide participants with a comprehensive overview of Salem’s municipal structure, services, and decision-making processes. Through informative presentations and guided tours of Town facilities, participants will learn how local government functions and how residents can effectively engage with their community.


Session Schedule

All sessions will be held on Thursdays and will begin at 6:00 PM, running approximately 2.5 hours each:

  • Thursday, February 5
  • Thursday, February 12
  • Thursday, February 19
  • Thursday, February 26
  • Thursday, March 5
  • Thursday, March 12

Due to limited enrollment capacity, interested residents are encouraged to register early. Priority will be given to individuals who have not previously participated in the Local Government Academy.
