2024 Salem Ethics Trainings for Elected and Appointed Officials

The Salem, NH Ethics Committee has begun a new process of providing annual Ethics trainings to all Salem boards, commissions, committees, and other elected and appointed officials (EAOs). Per Section 6.6 E of the Salem Town Charter, one of the duties of the Ethics Committee is to provide all EAOs with education on the Ethics provisions of the Charter.

The Ethics Committee plans to host five general ethics trainings for EAOs to attend in case they are unable to attend a regularly scheduled meeting with their respective board, committee, or commission. The following trainings will be provided at the Salem Town Hall (33 Geremonty Drive) in the Knightly Meeting Room at the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 4pm
  • Monday, August 19, 2024 at 6 pm
  • Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 2pm
  • Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 4pm
  • Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 5pm

All of the five general ethics trainings listed above and scheduled committee trainings below are open to the public.

The following is a list of Town groups, committees, or positions that will have a training in the next few months. Included next to each is a scheduled date and time of the training or an indication that the training has been completed.

  • Town Council – Completed Monday, August 19 in Salem High School Media Center
  • Budget Committee – Completed Wednesday, August 14 in Knightly Meeting Room
  • Communications Committee – Completed Thursday, August 1 in Knightly Meeting Room
  • Planning Board – Completed September 12 in Knightly Meeting Room   
  • Zoning Board of Adjustment – Completed Tuesday, August 6 in Knightly Meeting Room   
  • Historic District Commission – Completed Friday, August 23 in Community Development Conference Room   
  • Recreation Advisory Committee – Completed Thursday, August 8 in Knightly Meeting Room   
  • Economic Development Commission – Completed Tuesday, July 16 in Knightly Meeting Room
  • Conservation Commission – Complete Wednesday, July 10 in Knightly Meeting Room
  • Salem Housing Housing Authority
  • Kelley Library Trustees
  • Trustees of the Trust Funds
  • Other Town Positions:
