The Town of Salem is excited to celebrate our Fire and Police Department dispatchers as a part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW).

NPSTW is held annually during the second week of April to honor public safety telecommunicators for their commitment, service, and sacrifice.

NPSTW was started in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office in California. In 1994, President Bill Clinton signed Presidential Proclamation 6667, declaring the second week of April as NPSTW.

This week presents a special opportunity for us to express our heartfelt appreciation to the telecommunications personnel who serve the Salem Police Department and Salem Fire Department tirelessly, day in and day out, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Your unwavering dedication and commitment ensure the safety and well-being of our Town, and we are incredibly grateful for your invaluable service. Thank you for your continued efforts and sacrifices!

Our Fire Department dispatchers include:

  • Caitlin Oullette (Communications Supervisor)
  • Jay Heath
  • Amy DeSantis
  • Lauren Coty
  • Akasia Ware
  • Victoria Thickens

Our Police Department dispatchers include:

  • Scott Deschene (Dispatch Supervisor)
  • Diana McMahon
  • Ashley Trzesiara
  • James Bacon
  • Ashely Andrews
