On the evening of Monday, August 5, 2024, the Town welcomed three excellent new firefighters to the Salem Fire Department.

Fire Chief Craig Lemire gave an introduction and a brief biography of each of our new firefighters, Shayna Ravenscroft, David Jacques, and Cole Ferguson. All three of these outstanding new firefighters worked hard to reach their positions and the Town is elated to have them in the Department!

Mrs. Shayna Ravenscroft, Badge #267, is a certified NH Pro-Board Firefighter Level 2 and is a NH licensed and Nationally Certified EMT. Shayna recently graduated from NH Fire Academy recruit school where she was chosen to be the class speaker at their graduation ceremony. Shayna was previously a professional boxer, boxing coach, and a paraprofessional for Shore Educational Collaborative where she supported students with disabilities.

Mr. David Jacques, Badge #268, is a Salem High School graduate who also participated in the Salem High School / Salem Fire Department internship program where he began to pursue his career in the Fire & EMS services. David has worked as a per-diem EMT with Pridestar / Trinity EMS and is also a call firefighter in the Town of Atkinson, NH. David is a certified NH Pro-Board Firefighter Level 2 and is a NH licensed and Nationally Certified EMT.

Mr. Cole Ferguson, Badge #269, is a certified NH Pro-Board Firefighter Level 2 and is a NH licensed and Nationally Certified EMT. Cole recently completed 4 years with the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division where his responsibilities included rifleman, radio / telephone operator, assistant machine gunner, and team leader.
