Salem Town Council Considers 2024 ‘SMART’ Goals for Town Departments and Committees

The Salem Town Council is currently reviewing Town wide goals for Town departments and will soon hear presentations and review goals from Town boards and committees. Departments, boards, and committees were encouraged to develop ‘SMART’ goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely) for the Council’s consideration over the last month.

On April 15, 2024, various Department heads presented their various goals to the Town Council for consideration. You can view the Departments’ PowerPoint presentation here and view the recording of the Department’s presentation here.

The following Departments presented goals at the April 15 meeting:

  • Assessing
  • Community Development and Planning
  • Community Services
  • Finance
  • Fire
  • Human Resources
  • Municipal Services
  • Police
  • Salem Community Television
  • Tax Collector
  • Town Manager’s Office

At the upcoming April 29, 2024 Town Council meeting, the Chairs of the various Town boards and committees are invited to present their committee’s 3 proposed SMART goals.

The Town Council will review and finalize the departmental and committee goals at their May 20, 2024 meeting.
