Salem Seniors “All Shook Up” After Latest Field Trip to ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ Show

Back in August, a large group of Seniors participated in a trip to experience the golden age of Rock and Roll with a performance of Million Dollar Quartet at the Interlakes Theater in Meredith, NH. The show featured an iconic collection of hit music played out by a cast representing Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash. The actor who portrayed Jerry Lee Lewis had us in stitches and all of the performers were truly outstanding musical talents.

Million Dollar Quartet told the story of a fateful meeting of the new, up-and-coming musicians at an impromptu jam session in December 1956, where they gathered for a rare collaboration at Sun Studios in Memphis. The cast brilliantly portrayed the original performers while playing each timeless track with perfection and ease. Million Dollar Quartet left our seniors “all shook up”.

Prior to the show, our group dined on a scrumptious buffet at a new restaurant they’ve never visited before – The Homestead Restaurant and Tavern in Bristol, NH. The Homestead graciously opened early for our group. The staff were incredible and they were able to feed 112 seniors in a small window of time.
