Town of Salem, NH

Last weekend, members of the Salem Fire Department participated in the annual “Reach the Beach” Relay. The team completed the 204.8 mile road race which starts in Lancaster, NH and finishes at Hampton Beach State Park.

Our team completed the race in 33 hours and 50 minutes, which was an overall pace of 9:54 minutes / mile. The team planned for the race about 6 months ago and has spent time training and figuring out the logistics of it all!

Running as a team had significant benefits including feeling part of the group, feeling support and motivation from the team, and improving mental and physical health of the whole team!

The Town is very proud of our participating Fire Department runners. Congratulations to all of them on this great accomplishment!
