On the week of June 3, 2024, the historic building at 292 Main Street was demolished to make way for a new convent affiliated with Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. SCTV was there to hear from the project leaders, neighbors and town staff who were involved. Each person offered perspective on the history of the site and the goals of the new build that is designed to copy and carry forth the historic attributes present in the original building.

The video features a walk through 292 Main St with the new builder as he points out special features. It also includes a visit to the neighboring church and stories from long time resident Lois Mlocek who presents her memories of the area and neighbors, and Planning Director Jacob Lafontaine who describes the historical facts of this residence. The whole show wraps up with the demolition of 292 Main St.
